Universal Orlando’s next important planning date arrives Tuesday, when tickets and packages for Rock the Universe 2027 go on sale. The sale opens as two Florida-resident and passholder deadlines approach at the end of September, while Volcano Bay visitors have a longer seasonal closure to account for beginning in late October.

Rock the Universe tickets go on sale Tuesday

Universal says tickets and vacation packages for Rock the Universe 2027 will go on sale Sept. 15. The separately ticketed event is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 22, and Saturday, Jan. 23, at Universal Studios Florida, followed by a Sunday morning service on Jan. 24.

The announced Friday lineup includes Elevation Worship, Jamie MacDonald, Rave Jesus, Benjamin William Hastings, Strings & Heart, 1K Phew, Joseph O’Brien, Maddi Jane and John Allan. Saturday’s list includes Josiah Queen, Katy Nichole, Franni Cash, CAIN, Megan Woods, gio., Peter Burton, Sam Wesley and Torey D’Shaun.

Universal says the first wave of products will include single-night admission and a “Rock Your Weekend” option combining the weekend festivities with daytime theme-park access. Travelers should compare the actual terms when sales open rather than assuming every product includes the same parks or number of days. The practical move for groups coordinating travel is to settle on Friday, Saturday or both before entering the ticket flow.

Florida residents have until Sept. 30 to use a second-day offer

Universal’s current Florida-resident ticket page lists a “Buy a Day and Get a 2nd Day Free” promotion for Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. The product is a one-day park-to-park ticket with a second day added, must be used by Sept. 30 and is not sold at the front gate. Prices vary by visit date and restrictions apply.

The key limitation is park scope: the listed promotion covers Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, not Epic Universe or Volcano Bay. Every adult using the resident ticket must provide acceptable proof of Florida residency. Visitors should purchase online before arriving and confirm the ticket’s use window, because Sept. 30 is a redemption deadline rather than merely a booking deadline.

Passholder Appreciation Days enter their final two weeks

Universal’s official 2026 events calendar schedules Passholder Appreciation Days through Sept. 30. That leaves just over two weeks for eligible annual passholders to use the seasonal perks attached to the program.

Benefits can vary by location, pass type, date and availability, so passholders should check the current UOAP section in Universal’s app or website before making a special trip for a particular discount or offering. The end date is still useful for itinerary planning: a visit pushed into October should not be expected to carry the September appreciation benefits with it.

Volcano Bay’s maintenance closure starts Oct. 26

Universal’s official deals page now carries an operational warning for Volcano Bay: the water park is scheduled to close for maintenance beginning Oct. 26, with a planned reopening on or before March 24, 2027. Universal also notes that Volcano Bay can be closed on select dates before the maintenance period, so travelers should check the park calendar for their exact day.

This matters for anyone buying a multi-park ticket or package that includes the water park. A product may still advertise four-park access even when Volcano Bay is unavailable during the traveler’s dates. Before paying for an upgrade, verify which parks will actually be operating during the full ticket window.

HHN planning and wait times

Halloween Horror Nights continues on select nights through Nov. 1. Event admission is separate from daytime park admission, and ordinary Universal Express products do not automatically provide HHN Express access. Confirm the event calendar and ticket type before planning a daytime-to-nighttime transition.

For live planning, open TAQ’s Florida park wait-time page and select Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure or Epic Universe individually for a shorter near-real-time view of posted waits. On HHN nights, choose the dedicated “Universal Studios — HHN” selector to view posted haunted-house waits separately from daytime attractions.

What to know before you go

Rock the Universe buyers should decide which event nights they need before Tuesday’s sale. Florida residents should treat Sept. 30 as the use-by date for the second-day promotion, while passholders should not carry September appreciation benefits into an October plan. Anyone traveling after Oct. 26 should verify Volcano Bay’s operating status before adding water-park access.
