Universal Orlando’s Sunday plans now extend beyond the park gates. Halloween Horror Nights continues tonight at Universal Studios Florida, while a newly opened Traitors: New Blood takeover gives CityWalk visitors a fresh option before or after the event. Tuesday brings the next major booking date, and Florida residents still have a three-park ticket offer to compare before choosing fall visits.
HHN strategy starts before the general event entrance
Halloween Horror Nights 35 is active tonight at Universal Studios Florida. The separately ticketed event includes 10 haunted houses, four named scare zones, additional street experiences and two live productions: Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins and Nightmare Fuel: Blood Noir. Standard daytime admission does not include HHN.
Guests aiming to cover the most houses should decide on an initial route before reaching the gates. Universal’s official HHN guide recommends beginning with houses toward the back of the park because entrance-area queues often build first. Stay & Scream is available only to guests who have qualifying daytime admission or a Scream Early ticket plus valid HHN admission for the same night.
Universal’s event release says guests staying at a Universal Orlando hotel can use a priority event entrance from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. That is an alternate entrance benefit, not a substitute for event admission or an Express Pass. The official guide also warns that participating rides can close before the event ends, so visitors who want both houses and regular attractions should not automatically postpone every ride until late night.
A new Traitors takeover opens at CityWalk
Universal CityWalk added a fresh limited-time stop Saturday. Inside Universal reports that both bar areas inside Universal’s Great Movie Escape have been transformed for NBC’s The Traitors: New Blood, with themed décor, costumes worn by host Alan Cumming and separate specialty-drink menus.
The takeover began Sept. 12 and is expected to run through the program’s season. The show premieres Thursday, Sept. 17, at 8 p.m. on NBC, with streaming available the following day on Peacock, according to NBC. Most useful for park visitors: the reporting says guests do not need to purchase a Great Movie Escape experience to visit The Library or The Roundtable bars, although venue hours, capacity and age rules still apply.
This makes the installation a practical CityWalk option for groups with mixed HHN plans. A guest who is not attending the separately ticketed event can meet others outside the park, while event guests can use it as an earlier stop without assuming it functions as an HHN holding area or grants park access.
Rock the Universe sales begin Tuesday
Tickets and vacation packages for Rock the Universe 2027 go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 15. The Christian music festival returns to Universal Studios Florida Jan. 22–23, with a Sunday morning service scheduled for Jan. 24.
Elevation Worship leads Friday’s lineup, joined by Jamie MacDonald, Rave Jesus, Benjamin William Hastings, Strings & Heart, 1K Phew, Joseph O’Brien, Maddi Jane and John Allan. Josiah Queen leads Saturday, with Katy Nichole, Franni Cash, CAIN, Megan Woods, gio., Peter Burton, Sam Wesley and Torey D’Shaun.
Universal says buyers will be offered single-night tickets and a “Rock Your Weekend” product that combines both festival nights with daytime theme-park access. Prices and final terms should be compared when the sale opens rather than assuming the weekend bundle fits every itinerary. Travelers primarily interested in one headliner may value a single night, while families planning daytime park visits should examine exactly which days and parks the broader product covers.
Florida residents can compare a $255 three-park ticket
Universal’s current Florida-resident offers include a three-day ticket covering Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe. Published terms place the price at $255 plus tax, or $85 per park day, with eligible use through Dec. 23 and blockout dates applying.
The base product provides one park per day and dedicates one of the three admissions to Epic Universe. The days do not have to be consecutive. A park-to-park upgrade is available for the Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure portion, while proof of Florida residency is required. Before buying, compare the restrictions with the parks the group actually wants to repeat; a low per-day figure is less useful if the fixed one-day-per-park structure does not match the itinerary.
What to know before you go
Check Florida’s near-real-time posted wait times before committing to a route. Select Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure or Epic Universe individually for a shorter park-specific view. During HHN, choose the dedicated “Universal Studios — HHN” selector for available haunted-house waits instead of mixing those queues with daytime attractions.
