Six Flags Magic Mountain will open its 2026 Fright Fest on Friday, September 18, beginning a run on select nights through November 1. The most important planning detail is that ordinary park admission gets guests into the park for the evening atmosphere, rides, scare zones and shows, but entry to the haunted mazes requires a separate product.
Choose the right ticket before arriving
The park’s official event page lists a combined admission-and-maze bundle starting at $74. A date-specific Haunted Attractions Pass starts at $25 for guests who already have admission or a qualifying pass, while an all-season maze pass starts at $69. Taxes and fees may apply, and posted starting prices can change by date or availability.
The 2026 lineup includes seven mazes. Two are new: Final Destination: Death’s Playground and Wolves’ Blood. The remaining lineup is The Conjuring Universe, Trick ’r Treat, Carnage, Vault: 666 Unlocked and Willoughby’s: Resurrected. The event page also lists seven outdoor scare zones and four shows, including the new Nytewalkerz extreme-sports production. Maze access is the portion that requires the add-on; guests should not assume a standard daily ticket includes it. The park’s add-on page separates single-night and all-season options.
Families have a daytime alternative
Magic Mountain is also running Tricks and Treats on select days from September 18 through November 1. The operator describes it as a family-friendly daytime event before the nighttime scares begin. Families visiting with younger children should compare the day’s operating calendar with the Fright Fest schedule rather than treating the two programs as interchangeable.
Chaperone and costume rules matter
Fright Fest is not recommended for children younger than 13. Separately, Magic Mountain’s chaperone policy requires guests age 15 or younger to enter with someone at least 21 and remain accompanied under the policy beginning at 4 p.m. One chaperone may supervise no more than 10 qualifying minors, must carry government-issued photo identification and must remain reachable on park property.
The same policy bars Halloween masks and other full-face coverings. Costumes are permitted only for children age 12 and younger, and makeup cannot cover more than half of the face. Those limits apply even when a costume would otherwise fit the event theme.
