SeaWorld San Antonio will open a new Baby Shark live show and character meet-and-greets on Friday, September 18, giving families a fresh daytime option as the park’s Halloween season moves into its first full weekend.
The additions are part of Halloween Spooktacular, the park’s family-oriented event running on select dates through November 1. The show is scheduled for the Rescue Jr. Stage, while Baby Shark and Pinkfong will appear for meet-and-greets. Both experiences are included with regular park admission, according to SeaWorld’s event page.
Families should distinguish that daytime program from the park’s after-dark event. Spooktacular includes a Spookley the Square Pumpkin maze, seasonal activities and trick-or-treating for guests age 12 and younger. SeaWorld says candy supplies are limited, so arriving earlier in the operating day may provide a better chance to complete the route.
Costume and nighttime rules differ
Costumes are permitted during the family event, but visitors age 13 and older may not wear masks or hoods, and face painting is limited to work done by park artists. Those restrictions matter for groups planning to stay into the evening because Howl-O-Scream begins at 7 p.m. on scheduled Fridays through Sundays and does not allow guest costumes.
The nighttime event is designed for a mature audience and includes five haunted houses, eight scare zones, three shows and seven themed bars. It is included with admission and annual passes; SeaWorld says guests with a daytime ticket may remain for the evening event. Visitors who want only the child-friendly programming should plan their departure around the 7 p.m. transition, when the atmosphere changes substantially.
SeaWorld does not post one universal daily timetable for every attraction. Its operating-calendar page says schedules are updated periodically, so visitors should choose their specific date online and confirm showtimes in the park app before traveling. That check is especially important because both Halloween programs run on select dates rather than every operating day.
