Halloween Horror Nights returns to Universal Studios Florida tonight, creating the week’s most important operating change for daytime and evening visitors. Universal has also published new food guidance for the event, announced a Saturday anniversary celebration at CityWalk and introduced resort-wide Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month menus.
HHN returns tonight after an early Studios close
Universal Studios Florida is scheduled to close to ordinary daytime guests at 5 p.m. today before Halloween Horror Nights. Because hours can change, confirm the closing time on Universal’s official calendar before building a late-afternoon Studios plan.
Halloween Horror Nights requires separate admission and begins another Wednesday-through-Sunday run tonight. A standard daytime park ticket does not include the event. Universal’s official planning guide says guests holding both daytime or Scream Early access and same-night HHN admission can use Stay & Scream holding areas, with select haunted houses opening early.
Guests arriving only for HHN should allow time for parking, security and entry. Universal notes that standard HHN admission does not include parking, while some Passholder and multi-night products have different benefits. Verify the exact conditions attached to your ticket rather than assuming every HHN product works the same way.
Food planning can save time inside HHN
Universal’s 2026 food guide identifies themed dishes connected to this year’s houses, including catfish and grits, themed mac and cheese, specialty cake and a pot-sticker-style lasagna. It also lists returning event foods such as Birria Pizza Fries and Walking Tacos.
The practical takeaway is to decide whether food is part of the event plan before entering a long house queue. Universal also says the HHN Tribute Store is open during regular daytime hours, giving daytime visitors an option to shop before the nighttime crowds arrive.
Toothsome schedules a Saturday anniversary event
The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen will hold its 10th-anniversary celebration Saturday, September 19, from 3 to 6 p.m. Universal lists character appearances, a chocolate-dipping station, a family-oriented chocolate-origins showcase, a themed photo booth and engraved chocolate coins.
A separate limited-time anniversary menu remains available through September 30. Universal recommends reservations, which is especially relevant Saturday when the event may bring additional CityWalk traffic to the restaurant.
New heritage-month dishes span the resort
Universal’s newly published heritage-month menu spreads limited-time dishes across Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe and CityWalk. Examples include Birria Ramen at Lombard’s, Shrimp and Grouper Moqueca at Mythos, a Caribbean Crunch Roll at Cowfish and a Churrasco Steak Platter at Antojitos.
The locations matter: not every dish is accessible from every ticket type. Park restaurants require admission to their respective parks, while CityWalk locations do not require theme-park admission. Alcoholic beverages require guests to be at least 21 with valid identification.
What to know before you go
