Visitors considering Schlitterbahn New Braunfels for Halloween weekend should not assume the waterpark is operating. As of Oct. 30, the park’s official October calendar lists no operating hours and tells guests that dates have not been confirmed. The operator’s published park fact sheet describes Schlitterbahn as a seasonal waterpark that generally operates from mid-April through mid-September.
That makes the practical distinction important: the waterpark schedule and the lodging schedule are not the same. The Resort at Schlitterbahn says it remains open year-round, even when the slides, chutes and pools are outside their regular operating season.
What fall visitors can plan around
The resort’s check-in office is at 305 W. Austin St. in New Braunfels, and its accommodations are spread among several nearby properties, including Riverbend Cabins, Treehaus suites and condominiums, and SchlitterStein Lofts. The resort page positions those rooms as a base for visiting historic New Braunfels and nearby Gruene, rather than promising off-season waterpark access.
Travelers should therefore treat a fall lodging reservation as a resort stay, not as confirmation that water attractions will be available. The park’s main site notes that waterpark admission can be bundled with an overnight stay during waterpark season. It does not say that a room reservation creates access when the waterpark calendar has no posted hours.
The resort’s year-round status also does not mean every waterpark amenity converts into a hotel amenity. Schlitterbahn’s fact sheet separately identifies the water attractions, free tubes, life vests and shuttle service as parts of the operating waterpark experience. Those details should not be read as off-season guarantees.
Check the calendar before driving
For anyone planning a last-minute visit, the safest step is to review the official calendar again on the day of travel. A blank or unconfirmed date is not an operating-hours promise. Guests should also confirm which resort building they booked because the listed addresses differ by accommodation type.
When the waterpark is operating, Schlitterbahn says schedules and ride availability can vary, particularly early and late in the season. That is another reason to rely on the dated calendar rather than a general park description or an old search result. For this Halloween weekend, the current official information supports a year-round resort stay, but it does not show scheduled waterpark hours.
