Walt Disney World: EPCOT’s concert changeover leads into an anniversary
Smash Mouth begins a two-night Eat to the Beat engagement at EPCOT today, September 30, continuing Thursday, October 1. Disney’s official concert schedule lists performances at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m. at America Gardens Theatre. The concerts are part of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, but admission and any required park reservation still apply. Today’s Disney World update has the fuller resort calendar, including the remaining Halloween-party constraints.
Thursday also marks 55 years since Walt Disney World opened on October 1, 1971. Disney has begun acknowledging the milestone through an official anniversary feature and limited merchandise. For visitors, the useful distinction is that the anniversary is a resort milestone, not a promise that every park will follow a normal operating pattern; check each park’s posted hours before traveling.
Universal Orlando: a final-day benefit and a 5 p.m. close
Today is the last advertised travel date for Universal Orlando’s Passholder Appreciation Days hotel offer. Universal’s passholder hotel guide says eligible passholders can save up to 40% on Sunday-through-Thursday stays at select hotels through September 30, subject to availability and restrictions. Travelers should distinguish that ending window from other passholder hotel rates that continue later in the year.
Universal Studios Florida is posted to close at 5 p.m. today as Halloween Horror Nights takes over the park. The official park page lists today’s shortened daytime schedule and the separately ticketed HHN season. Guests planning a crossover day should keep daytime admission and event admission separate and allow time for the transition. The Universal Orlando update also covers Saturday’s first Universal Nights event at Epic Universe and the updated Volcano Bay maintenance window.
Universal’s Universal Nights calendar lists after-hours events October 3, 17 and 24 and November 6 and 20. Saturday’s debut is now close enough that ticket holders should confirm admission details, transportation and the day’s Epic Universe hours rather than treating it as a routine late park close.
Around Central Florida: LEGOLAND’s split Wednesday schedule
The official LEGOLAND Florida calendar lists the main LEGOLAND Theme Park, LEGOLAND Water Park and SEA LIFE Florida closed today. Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida is listed separately from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Because the resort’s individual gates do not share identical operating schedules, visitors should not assume one open attraction means the full Winter Haven complex is operating.
