Kings Island’s fall season begins Friday, September 25, with an important split for families: the after-dark Halloween Haunt is aimed at older visitors, while the daytime Tricks and Treats program starts Sunday, September 27. The park’s official 2026 events calendar lists Halloween Haunt on select nights through October 31 and Tricks and Treats on select days through November 1.
That distinction matters when choosing a ticket and arrival time. Kings Island says Halloween Haunt is not recommended for children under 13. Scare zones, live shows and most rides are included with park admission, but haunted mazes require a separate purchase. The park currently advertises a same-night admission-and-maze bundle from $64 and an all-season haunted-attractions pass from $49, before processing fees and tax.
Families with younger children have a separate daytime option. The official Tricks and Treats guide describes a family event with a trick-or-treat trail, costume contest, dance parties and seasonal shows. Planet Snoopy and Camp Snoopy will be closed Thursdays and Fridays during Halloween Haunt, and those areas will close at 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. That makes an early arrival especially useful for families planning to use the children’s rides before the nighttime event takes over.
Admission and re-entry rules
Visitors should not assume a daytime admission covers every evening attraction. Haunted mazes are premium add-ons, and the park says The Conjuring: Beyond Fear carries an additional fee and is not included with either haunted-attractions pass. Halloween Haunt also brings tighter re-entry rules: no re-entry is permitted on Thursdays or Fridays, while weekend re-entry ends at 6 p.m. Face coverings that conceal identity are prohibited.
The park’s standing chaperone policy also remains in force. Guests 15 or younger must be accompanied by someone at least 21. Enforcement begins at 2 p.m. Saturdays and 4 p.m. on other days, although Kings Island reserves the right to start earlier. One chaperone may accompany no more than 10 guests age 15 or younger and must remain in the park.
For pass buyers, Kings Island lists a 2027 Gold Pass at $125, or $99 for renewals, plus fees and taxes. The pass includes visits for the rest of 2026 and all of 2027, general parking and admission to Midwest parks including Cedar Point. The advertised free Bring-a-Friend renewal benefit ends November 1.
