Six Flags Great Adventure will open Fright Fest on Friday, September 18, beginning a run of select nights through November 1 at the Jackson Township park. The most important planning detail is that general admission covers the event’s scare zones, live shows and nighttime rides, but the haunted mazes require a separate add-on.
The park’s official Fright Fest page lists a same-night bundle combining park admission and maze access from $80 online, before processing fees and taxes. An all-season haunted-attractions pass starts at $75, with an Express upgrade offered separately. Prices and availability can change, so visitors should compare the bundle with any admission or season pass they already hold before checkout.
This year’s maze lineup adds two new licensed experiences: Jason: Blood Reign and Final Destination: Death’s Playground. They join The Conjuring Universe, Army of the Dead, Asylum, Twisted Holidays, Deadwood Cabin, Big Top Terror and The Witch’s Reflection. The park’s September 15 visitor guide also identifies five scare zones and five shows, including The Awakening, Dead Man’s Party, Unleashed, Blade Drummers and Freak Show.
What admission includes
Visitors who skip the maze add-on can still enter CarnEvil, Exile Canyon, Plaza de la Muerte, Curse of Blackbeard’s Bounty and The Bloody Fountain, and can attend the event’s live entertainment. The park also advertises nighttime operation for major rides including Nitro, El Toro, Jersey Devil Coaster, Medusa, Flash Vertical Velocity and Barrels O’ Fun. Ride availability can change with weather, maintenance and operating conditions.
Six Flags says Fright Fest is not recommended for children younger than 13, and every guest needs paid admission. Families seeking a milder visit have a daytime alternative: Kids Boo Fest and Oktoberfest run on select days from September 12 through November 1 and are included with park admission. Kids Boo Fest features trick-or-treating, games and entertainment, while Oktoberfest food and beverages cost extra.
