Silver Dollar City’s nighttime fall program begins Friday, September 18, adding illuminated pumpkin displays and evening entertainment to the Branson park’s Harvest Festival. Visitors planning a fall trip should distinguish the nighttime start from Craft Days, which began September 11, and verify their date on the park’s operating calendar before traveling.
Pumpkins in the City runs through October 31. Silver Dollar City says the nighttime elements begin at 5:30 p.m. on event evenings, with illuminated pumpkin installations, a lantern canopy, Foggy Hollow effects, a three-story pumpkin figure, family dance parties and photo opportunities in an expanded plaza.
What changes after dark
The fall event uses more than 20,000 real and carved pumpkins across the park, including a Garden of Giants where some pumpkins weigh more than 1,000 pounds. Rides and scheduled entertainment continue into the evening, although the operator cautions that only select shops remain open until the park closes.
Guests should also note one important rule: costumes are not permitted at Silver Dollar City during the Harvest Festival. That differs from some family Halloween events elsewhere, where children are encouraged to dress up, and makes ordinary park attire the safer planning choice.
The daytime Craft Days program continues through October 31 with visiting artisans and resident craftspeople demonstrating work such as blacksmithing, glassblowing and pottery. The event page also lists a pumpkin-carving demonstration, chuck-wagon activities and a western-art showcase scheduled through October 5.
Food and ticket planning
Seasonal food is available throughout the festival, but the optional tasting product is separate from admission. The park’s Harvest Tasting Ticket costs $38 plus tax and covers five tasting-size selections from the limited-time menu through October 31. The published menu spans savory dishes, desserts and drinks, so visitors should compare the five-item package with à-la-carte purchases before buying.
Because hours vary by date, visitors should confirm the closing time rather than assuming every festival day offers the same evening window. Arriving before dusk provides time for rides and craft demonstrations before the 5:30 p.m. lighting program begins.
