Cedar Point’s full HalloWeekends season opens Thursday, September 17, giving fall visitors a choice between daytime family programming and nighttime scares through November 1. The most important planning detail is that regular park admission does not include the haunted mazes.
The Sandusky park’s official event overview describes select days and nights across the seven-week run. Daytime programming is intended for families, while the park shifts toward haunted attractions, scare zones and live entertainment after dark. Cedar Point’s nighttime guidance says some areas may be too intense for young children after 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Maze access requires an add-on
Visitors who want the indoor haunted mazes need a date-specific Haunted Attractions Pass in addition to admission. Cedar Point’s nighttime guide lists that pass from $15 online, before taxes and a processing fee of up to $9.99. An all-season maze pass starts at $59. Express upgrades are available, but neither maze product covers admission to the amusement park itself.
A separate premium experience, The Conjuring: Beyond Fear, starts at $25 and is not included with the standard maze pass. The park describes it as an approximately 20-minute experience. The regular maze pass does include the new Diablo: The Infernal Path attraction, alongside returning houses such as Midnight, Slaughter House and CornStalkers 2.0.
Know the evening rules
Guests cannot wear costumes, makeup, special-effects makeup or items that conceal their identity during the nighttime event. The park’s broader code of conduct allows family-oriented themed attire in general but notes that such outfits may be prohibited during evening Halloween events. Cedar Point strongly recommends that guests younger than 18 be accompanied by an adult, although its posted policy does not establish a mandatory chaperone cutoff.
Cedar Point Shores is not listed among the attractions in the fall event program. Visitors should check the park calendar and official app before traveling during the limited fall season because operating dates, showtimes and ride availability can vary.
