Kings Island’s 2026 Halloween Haunt is now open on select nights through October 31, with two new haunted mazes and several rules that can change how visitors plan an evening. The park’s official event page says scare zones, live shows and most rides are included with park admission, but haunted mazes require a separate purchase.
The headline addition is JASON: Blood Reign, a maze based on the Friday the 13th franchise. The park also added an outdoor maze called Metal Massacre. Axios reported after an early look that the two experiences joined returning mazes, scare zones and shows when the event opened September 25. The park’s own listing confirms that the Jason maze is included with a Haunted Attractions Pass or Haunted Attractions Express Pass.
Admission does not cover every haunt
Visitors should distinguish the included nighttime atmosphere from the paid indoor experiences. The park lists scare zones and most rides as part of general admission, while its mazes require an add-on or bundle. The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is a separate add-on and is not included even with the Haunted Attractions Pass. The park also says the event is not recommended for children under 13.
Re-entry and chaperone rules matter
On Thursdays and Fridays during Halloween Haunt, re-entry is not permitted. On weekends, re-entry ends at 6 p.m. Face coverings that conceal a visitor’s identity are prohibited. Those are event-specific conditions published by Kings Island, so guests should check the current event policy before leaving the park or finalizing a costume.
The park’s standing chaperone rule also remains in force. According to Kings Island’s published code of conduct, guests age 15 or younger must be accompanied by someone at least 21 to enter or remain in the park once enforcement begins—2 p.m. Saturdays and 4 p.m. on other days, unless the park starts earlier. One chaperone may accompany no more than 10 guests age 15 or younger and must remain inside and be reachable by phone.
