Six Flags Great America’s 2026 Fright Fest requires separate maze access, and guests who leave after 8 p.m. cannot re-enter. Those two rules can materially change both the cost and timing of an October visit, even when a visitor already has park admission.

The park’s official Fright Fest page lists the event on select nights through November 1. Admission covers entry to the park, scare zones and scheduled entertainment, but the haunted mazes require a Haunted Attractions Pass. Six Flags currently lists a date-specific maze pass from $35, plus fees, while a bundle combining park admission and maze access starts from $75.

Park admission is not maze admission

The separate Fright Fest add-ons page makes the distinction explicit: the $35 starting-price product provides maze access on the selected night, but does not include park admission. Visitors comparing tickets should therefore check whether their cart contains both required products or a bundle that covers both. Express access, where offered, is another upgrade rather than part of the standard maze pass.

Fright Fest is described as an intense event and is not recommended for children younger than 13 after 6 p.m. The park’s event rules also prohibit re-entry after 8 p.m. Guests older than 12 may not wear costumes, full-face makeup, full-face masks or front-zip hoods; medical or cloth face coverings over the mouth and nose remain permitted.

Families have a daytime alternative

Families seeking a lower-intensity visit can use the park’s Kids Boo Fest schedule, which runs on select days through November 1 and is designed as a daytime event before the nighttime scares begin. The park separately lists Oktoberfest and Fright Fest on its fall events calendar, so visitors should match each activity to the exact date and hours they plan to attend.

Six Flags also says its chaperone policy remains in effect during Fright Fest. Groups with teenagers should review that policy before arrival rather than discovering an age or supervision requirement at the gate.

The practical plan is to choose the date first, verify park hours, decide whether haunted mazes are essential, and purchase the correct admission combination. Once inside, anyone who expects to leave for food, a hotel break or belongings in the car should return before the 8 p.m. cutoff—or plan not to re-enter that night.
