Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s Howl-O-Scream ticket creates a two-hour entry window before the event formally begins, but it does not include ordinary daytime admission.

The park’s official ticket page says Howl-O-Scream starts at 7 p.m. on event nights while event-ticket holders may enter beginning at 5 p.m. The separately ticketed season runs on select nights through Oct. 31.

The 5 p.m. entry is not a daytime ticket

Busch Gardens states that the Howl-O-Scream ticket is not valid for general daytime admission, parking, tours or dining. Visitors planning a full park day plus the nighttime event therefore need to verify that they hold the appropriate products for both periods rather than assuming the evening ticket covers everything before 7.

The ticket page also advertises an any-night group offer requiring at least two tickets. Because prices, inventory and terms can change, shoppers should check the final cart and selected event date rather than relying only on the headline discount.

Costumes are not permitted

The park’s event guidance describes Howl-O-Scream as intended for mature audiences, with intense themes that can include blood, gore and violence. It explicitly says costumes are not permitted, a rule visitors should consider before arriving in Halloween attire.

Busch Gardens’ 2026 events page distinguishes the nighttime event from Halloween Spooktacular, the family-focused daytime program offered Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 1. Spooktacular activities are not a substitute for Howl-O-Scream admission, and the two programs target different audiences.

For an event-night visit, the useful sequence is to arrive with enough time for parking and security before the 5 p.m. admission window, then use the early period for orientation, food or rides before haunted attractions begin at 7. Guests should still check the day’s operating calendar because entry and attraction availability can change.

The main mistake to avoid is treating 5 p.m. as the event start. It is an entry benefit attached to the event ticket; Howl-O-Scream itself begins two hours later.
