Universal Orlando visitors heading into the weekend face a calendar dominated by Halloween Horror Nights, but three other changes also deserve attention: a long-running live show now has a final date, Epic Universe has a nightly closing spectacle, and October after-hours events are approaching.
The central planning issue is timing. Universal Studios Florida can close earlier on Halloween Horror Nights dates, while several of the resort’s newest and oldest experiences have their own schedules. Check the operator’s app again on the day of your visit.
1. Halloween Horror Nights 35 is the immediate schedule driver
Halloween Horror Nights 35 is underway at Universal Studios Florida on select nights through November 1. The separate-ticket event has 10 haunted houses, including Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control, Stranger Things 5, Sinners, Hellraiser and an Ozzy Osbourne-themed house, plus scare zones and live entertainment.
For daytime visitors, the important detail is the park calendar. Universal Studios Florida may end regular operations earlier on an HHN night so the park can transition to the evening event. Admission to the daytime park does not by itself provide entry to Halloween Horror Nights. Confirm both the regular park closing time and the event entry rules before planning a late-afternoon attraction sequence.
Guests attending HHN should also separate three decisions: event admission, any early-entry product, and Express access. Availability and prices can differ by date. The event contains intense content and is not designed as a children’s Halloween party; review Universal’s current warnings and policies before purchasing.
2. Animal Actors has a November 2 final-performance date
Universal has set November 2 as the final day for Animal Actors On Location! at Universal Studios Florida, according to the closure notice reported by Attractions Magazine. The show will no longer be offered beginning November 3 as the resort prepares the location for a new experience.
Visitors who consider the animal-training show part of a traditional Universal Studios day now have a finite window to see it. Because live-show times can change and individual performances can fill, consult the Universal Orlando app after entering the park rather than relying on an old schedule. Universal has not provided enough public detail to plan around the replacement, so the useful fact today is the closing date—not speculation about what follows.
3. Epic Universe now ends with Celestial Goodnight
At Epic Universe, Universal Celestial Goodnight is scheduled nightly at park close, weather permitting, according to the resort’s official announcement. The presentation uses fountains, synchronized lighting, music and fireworks across Celestial Park.
This changes how visitors should plan the final hour. Guests who want to see the closing presentation should avoid placing themselves deep inside a portal near closing without accounting for the walk back to Celestial Park. Weather can cancel or alter outdoor entertainment, and “at park close” means the exact time follows that day’s operating calendar. Check the app rather than assuming a fixed nightly hour.
4. October Universal Nights adds a separate after-hours choice
Universal Nights is planned for select Saturday evenings at Epic Universe in October. Published event details describe entry beginning at 7 p.m. and the limited-capacity event operating from 9 p.m. to midnight, with selected attractions, entertainment, snacks and bottled drinks included. Tickets started at $179.99 plus tax when sales opened; current availability and date-specific pricing require verification through Universal’s Epic Universe pages.
Do not treat this as a general extension of ordinary park hours. It is a separately ticketed product, and its value depends on the attractions operating on a chosen night and how much of the three-hour event a guest can realistically use. Compare it with a regular park day and any Express option before buying both.
What to know before you go
Build the day around the official operating calendar first, especially when Universal Studios Florida hosts Halloween Horror Nights. Save current tickets and confirmations in the Universal app, allow travel time between the original resort campus and Epic Universe, and recheck outdoor entertainment when storms are possible.
For live attraction planning, open TAQ’s Florida wait times and select Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure or Epic Universe individually. During Halloween Horror Nights, use the dedicated Universal Studios — HHN selector for near-real-time posted haunted-house waits.
