Carowinds’ family-focused Tricks and Treats event is running Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 1, giving visitors a daytime alternative to the park’s separately promoted nighttime horror program. The event is designed for all ages and takes place before the evening scares begin.
The official event calendar lists Tricks and Treats on weekends from Sept. 12 through Nov. 1. Because operating hours vary by date, families should confirm the park’s daily calendar before traveling rather than assuming the same schedule each weekend.
What admission includes
Carowinds’ event page says a dated park ticket includes fall events on participating dates. The page currently displays online admission starting at $45, compared with an $80 gate price, plus taxes and a processing fee of up to $9.99. Prices and availability are date-specific and can change.
The daytime program includes a trick-or-treat trail through Crossroads, a children’s costume contest in Camp Snoopy, the Skelebration Dance Party and seasonal street entertainment. The park also lists several hands-on activities: children under 12 may select one pumpkin at no additional charge, while Mask Maker’s Mash offers a craft activity and the Phantom Foam Pit provides a play area.
The event is pitched as “all fun, no fear,” a practical distinction for families comparing it with SCarowinds. Visitors can still use operating rides and attractions during the park day, but the event page directs guests to the Six Flags app for current showtimes and entertainment schedules.
Costume and chaperone rules
Families should review Carowinds’ park policies before dressing for the event. Children 12 and younger may wear costumes and masks during daytime kid-focused activities in designated areas, but masks are prohibited on rides. Guests 13 and older may not wear costume masks, full face paint or costume attire.
The park’s chaperone policy applies daily by 2 p.m., with possible earlier enforcement. Guests 15 and younger must be accompanied by someone at least 21, and one chaperone may supervise no more than five minors in that age group. The adult must show government-issued photo identification, remain in the park and be reachable by phone.
