Adventureland Resort is limiting most bags to 8 by 5 by 2 inches during Phantom Fall Fest, a rule that can determine whether an Iowa Halloween visit starts at the gate or back at the car. The park allows exceptions for childcare supplies and medical bags, but says those items must be carried in a soft-sided cooler or bag.

The policy appears in Adventureland’s official event guide, which says all guests pass through a weapons-detection system at the front entrance. Visitors should measure any purse, backpack or camera bag before leaving home rather than assuming a typical day bag will qualify.

Teen groups also need a chaperone

Adventureland says guests younger than 17 must be accompanied by someone age 21 or older. One chaperone may escort no more than four under-17 guests into the park. That limit matters for carpools, birthday groups and families bringing several teenagers, because adding a fifth minor requires another qualifying adult.

The same guide says guests must remain identifiable. Masks, hoods and other face-concealing items are prohibited except for valid medical, religious or weather-related protection, and the park retains discretion to request adjustments. Costumes, face paint and makeup may also face additional restrictions during the event.

What the ticket includes

Phantom Fall Fest runs on weekends through October 31. A festival ticket includes daytime park access, five haunted houses and four scare zones, according to the event guide. Adventureland’s ticket page currently advertises an any-day festival ticket for $34.99 and date-selected tickets starting at $39.99; buyers should verify the live checkout total because prices and promotions can change.

The park also operates without cash. Its payment policy accepts major credit, debit and prepaid cards, along with Apple Pay and Google Pay. Guests carrying cash can convert $1 to $500 onto a prepaid card at free kiosks located at the front gate, Guest Services, the Lighthouse and Kokomo store.

Finally, single-day parking is listed at $21 and preferred parking at $26 on the parking page. The most efficient plan is to arrive with a compliant bag, the correct chaperone ratio, a card-ready payment method and a date-matched ticket. Those checks address the restrictions most likely to delay entry before the fall attractions begin.
