Delray Beach’s Art on the Square will return to Old School Square on November 7 and 8, offering a free outdoor fine-art show alongside free admission to the Cornell Art Museum. The announced weekend gives residents and visitors a way to see original work and meet artists at the downtown campus without buying an admission ticket.

The organizer’s current event program lists Saturday hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The location is 51 N. Swinton Avenue. Saturday’s judging is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, while the public show continues beyond that judging period.

The planned selection includes paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics and mixed-media work. The program describes a juried show, with awards for first, second and third place. Its visitor appeal is the opportunity to encounter different kinds of work and speak with the people making it, rather than viewing a single artist’s exhibition.

The downtown listing also identifies an Emerging Artist Program, with free booth space and support for artists taking part in their first show. That is a participation feature described by organizers; it does not mean a new application is currently open or that every artist receives free space. Prospective exhibitors should confirm the relevant show and its application timetable before making plans.

Organizers also list live music, art activities and a café offering food and beverages. Free admission should be understood separately from optional purchases. Neither artwork nor refreshments should be assumed to be included simply because entry to the grounds and museum carries no admission charge.

The indoor museum offers a different experience from the outdoor booths. Housed in the 1913 Delray Elementary School building, it presents contemporary work and rotating exhibitions, according to its current museum information. Its published exhibition schedule includes River of Grass, focused on the Everglades through fiber art and woven installations, and Marleen De Waele–De Bock’s Blooming in Color!, both listed through January 24, 2027.

The museum’s regular hours also differ from the show’s. Its current page lists Saturday hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday hours of noon to 5 p.m. The outdoor show’s 10 a.m. Sunday opening therefore should not be read as confirmation that the indoor galleries will open at that same time. Visitors hoping to do both should check any special weekend arrangements.

Parking is a separate cost consideration. The downtown event listing identifies paid parking in the Old School Square and Federspiel garages. It does not promise a free parking space with admission. Visitors should follow current signs and posted payment terms rather than relying on an older event’s parking arrangement.

This account describes announced programming, not an independently observed event. TAQ has not verified a final artist roster, attendance projection or economic-impact estimate. The organizer’s current event page is the place to check for program changes before traveling.
