# Kentucky Kingdom’s 5,000-Pumpkin Trail Opens October 1

Kentucky Kingdom will open its combined daytime theme-park festival and nighttime Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular on October 1, giving visitors one admission for rides, trick-or-treating and a quarter-mile trail of more than 5,000 hand-carved pumpkins. The event runs Wednesdays through Sundays through November 1, according to the park’s [official event guide](https://www.kentuckykingdom.com/explore-the-park/festivals-events/pumpkins-at-kentucky-kingdom/?ref=theamericanquorum.com).

The 2026 edition is the first time the original Louisville Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular will operate inside Kentucky Kingdom. Its new “Planet Pumpkin: A Glo-bal Adventure” theme uses carved pumpkins to depict landmarks, traditions and cultural icons from around the world. The park says the same producer and local artists who created the Spectacular during its previous 13 years are continuing the event in the new location.

The larger Pumpkins at Kentucky Kingdom program adds more than 1,000 illuminated pumpkins elsewhere in the park, bringing the advertised total above 6,000\. Admission includes more than 30 rides scheduled to operate from day into night, trick-or-treat stations with free candy, a hay maze, live entertainment and seasonal food available for purchase. The Spectacular trail opens at 6 p.m. and does not require a separate ticket.

Operating hours vary by day: 5–9 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5–10 p.m. Fridays, 2–10 p.m. Saturdays and 4–9 p.m. Sundays. Hurricane Bay is closed for the remainder of the 2026 season, so the fall ticket should be treated as theme-park admission rather than a combined water-park visit.

Online day tickets start at $19.99, while parking is separate. The park lists gate parking at $15 per car with same-day reentry or $13 online for a single entry; 2026 season passholders and 2027 Diamond Passholders receive event admission and parking. Guests age 15 or younger must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21, with no more than six minors per supervising adult.

The event is rain or shine, although rides may close during unsafe weather. Costumes are permitted, but masks are limited to children under 12 and weapons or weapon-like props are prohibited. The trail is designed for wheelchairs and strollers, and the park advises guests with sensory sensitivities to expect crowds, music, ride noise and changing light levels.
