Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon remains unavailable Friday, Oct. 2, and visitors holding water-park plans should route to Blizzard Beach rather than arriving at the closed gate.

The official [Typhoon Lagoon page](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/destinations/typhoon-lagoon/?ref=theamericanquorum.com) lists the park as temporarily closed for refurbishment. Disney’s [operating calendar](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/calendars/?ref=theamericanquorum.com) likewise marks Typhoon Lagoon closed while listing Blizzard Beach as the operating water-park option.

## No reopening date is posted

Disney says the closure began Sept. 9, 2026, but the current park and dining notices do not provide a reopening date. That means guests planning later October trips should not assume the park will resume operations on a particular day without a new official calendar entry.

The closure reaches beyond slides and pools. Disney’s [Leaning Palms dining page](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/typhoon-lagoon/leaning-palms/?ref=theamericanquorum.com) says the restaurant is also closed during the refurbishment and directs guests toward dining at Blizzard Beach. Similar notices appear across Typhoon Lagoon’s listed food locations, confirming that this is a parkwide shutdown rather than a limited attraction closure.

## Check admission terms before switching parks

Guests should confirm that their ticket or vacation package includes water-park access before traveling to Blizzard Beach. A Typhoon Lagoon plan cannot simply be moved to the other park if the underlying admission product does not cover it. Disney also notes on its dining pages that valid admission is required and that reservation requirements can depend on admission type.

Operating hours can change, particularly around weather. The best same-day workflow is to recheck Disney’s calendar shortly before departure, confirm Blizzard Beach hours, and review transportation or parking arrangements tied to the replacement plan.

Travelers specifically interested in Typhoon Lagoon should treat the absence of a reopening date as a reason to keep plans flexible. Disney can update the calendar as refurbishment progresses, but until a date appears, lodging, dining or transportation choices should not depend on the park being open.

The practical consequence for Oct. 2 is clear: Typhoon Lagoon is not a partial-day option. Visitors should choose Blizzard Beach, another attraction or a rest day, and verify the latest operating status before leaving their hotel.
