**Universal Orlando’s most actionable update Tuesday is a ticket-sale opening:** admission and vacation packages for Rock the Universe 2027 are scheduled to go on sale today, giving visitors their first opportunity to lock in the January music weekend. Halloween Horror Nights then returns Wednesday for a five-night stretch, while CityWalk has added a football-season menu that does not require park admission.

## Rock the Universe tickets and packages go on sale today

Universal’s [Rock the Universe page](https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/things-to-do/events/rock-the-universe?ref=theamericanquorum.com) is the place to check for the live inventory as sales open September 15\. The separately ticketed event is scheduled for Friday, January 22, and Saturday, January 23, 2027, at Universal Studios Florida.

Universal has said the purchase choices include single-night admission and a multi-day “Rock Your Weekend” option. Vacation packages are also part of the sale. Before buying, visitors should compare the package components rather than assuming every option includes the same daytime park access, hotel stay or event nights. Regular theme-park admission and admission to a separately ticketed evening event are different products.

The practical decision is whether to commit to one concert night or build the trip around the full weekend. Guests traveling from outside Central Florida should also compare hotel availability now: a ticket may solve event entry, but transportation and a late-night return can become the harder part of the plan. Because the sale is opening today, prices and availability shown on Universal’s site should be treated as the current source of record.

## Halloween Horror Nights returns Wednesday for five consecutive nights

Tuesday is a non-event night at Universal Studios Florida, but the [official Halloween Horror Nights calendar](https://www.universalorlando.com/hhn/en/us?ref=theamericanquorum.com) resumes Wednesday, September 16\. The next run continues through Sunday, September 20, giving visitors several choices but also changing regular operating patterns at Universal Studios Florida on event days.

HHN requires separate admission. Universal’s [official planning guide](https://blog.discoveruniversal.com/events/guide-to-halloween-horror-nights/?ref=theamericanquorum.com) advises daytime visitors to note the park’s event-night closing time. Guests who hold both qualifying daytime admission and an HHN ticket may use Stay & Scream holding areas; Universal also sells a Scream Early add-on that allows entry beginning at 2 p.m. for eligible guests with same-night HHN admission.

That early-entry detail can materially affect how many houses fit into one evening. Universal’s guidance recommends starting with houses toward the back of the park because entrances near the front often build lines first. It also notes that some rides close before the event ends, so anyone balancing houses with attractions should put a priority ride earlier in the night rather than saving it for the final hour.

Guests should also remember the event rules: Universal says HHN is not recommended for children under 13, costumes and costume masks are not allowed on standard event nights, and parking is not included with a standard HHN ticket. Event hours and offerings can vary by date, so check the app before traveling.

## CityWalk adds a football-season menu outside the parks

Visitors looking for a lower-commitment evening option can now find a seasonal menu at NBC Sports Grill & Brew in Universal CityWalk. According to [Discover Universal](https://blog.discoveruniversal.com/news/celebrate-nfl-kickoff-with-food-drinks-at-nbc-sports-grill-brew-in-universal-citywalk/?ref=theamericanquorum.com), the limited-time lineup is available through the end of football season.

The menu includes “Crunch” corn fritters with slaw and Creole remoulade, a mac-and-cheeseburger built around a mac-and-cheese croquette, an “End Zone” bowl with chicken tinga and cilantro rice, and a nonalcoholic strawberry-and-vanilla Berry Fizz. Availability and pricing can change, but the location is useful because CityWalk itself does not require theme-park admission. Standard parking charges may still apply, and the restaurant can become busy around major games and event-night arrivals.

## What to know before you go

For Tuesday, the clearest tasks are to check live Rock the Universe inventory and decide whether one night or the weekend product fits the trip. For Wednesday through Sunday, HHN visitors should confirm event admission, regular park hours and any early-entry eligibility before arrival.

TAQ’s [**Florida park wait-times page**](https://parks.theamericanquorum.com/?state=FL&ref=theamericanquorum.com) lets readers select Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe or Volcano Bay individually for a shorter near-real-time view of posted waits. During HHN, choose the dedicated **“Universal Studios — HHN”** selector for near-real-time posted haunted-house waits.
