# Disney World Weekend Update: Animation Experience Opens Monday as EPCOT Lineup Turns Over

Walt Disney World’s most useful weekend planning development is now two days away: The Magic of Disney Animation opens Monday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Before then, EPCOT changes its concert lineup on Sunday, Magic Kingdom holds another separately ticketed Halloween party, and travelers have two weeks left in the start-date window for Disney’s four-park summer ticket offer.

## The Magic of Disney Animation opens Monday

[The Magic of Disney Animation](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/attractions/hollywood-studios/magic-of-disney-animation/?ref=theamericanquorum.com) is scheduled to open Sept. 14 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney’s official attraction page currently shows no operating times, so Monday visitors should confirm the day’s schedule in the My Disney Experience app rather than assuming the experience will follow the park’s full operating day.

The new complex is more than a single drawing class. Olaf Draws will teach guests to sketch a Disney character with pencil and paper. Off the Page! will offer character meetings in settings based on stages of the animation process. Drawn to Wonderland is a children’s play space influenced by Mary Blair’s concept art for *Alice in Wonderland*, while the Disney Once Upon a Studio Theater will screen a short film celebrating more than a century of Disney animation.

For families deciding whether to visit this weekend or Monday, the practical distinction is simple: the surrounding reworked courtyard may already be accessible, but Disney lists Sept. 14 as the opening date for the named attraction and its experiences. Treat any earlier access as unconfirmed, and expect the first operating days to draw interest even if no formal virtual queue is announced.

## EPCOT’s concert schedule changes Sunday

Saturday is the final scheduled night for Couch at the [Eat to the Beat Concert Series](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/epcot/food-wine-eat-to-the-beat-concerts/?ref=theamericanquorum.com). The band is listed for performances at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m. at America Gardens Theatre. Fitz and the Tantrums takes over Sunday and Monday, Sept. 13–14, at the same scheduled showtimes. The concerts are included with valid EPCOT admission, although Disney notes that a park reservation may be required depending on the admission type.

This is also a useful week to look beyond the marketplaces. The [EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/epcot/epcot-international-food-and-wine-festival/?ref=theamericanquorum.com) continues through Nov. 21, and Disney says the new “Cheers to Cheese!” interactive exhibit will run at CommuniCore Hall from Sept. 18 through Nov. 8\. Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit follows Sept. 25 through Nov. 2\. Both dates are close enough for visitors finalizing late-September itineraries to decide whether those activities are worth shifting an EPCOT day.

## Magic Kingdom’s next Halloween party is Sunday

The next [Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/magic-kingdom/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party/?ref=theamericanquorum.com) is Sunday, Sept. 13\. The separately ticketed event runs from 7 p.m. to midnight, and party-ticket holders may enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 p.m. Disney lists event tickets from $119 to $229 plus tax, varying by date, and warns that tickets are limited and may be unavailable on or before the event date.

That timing matters even for guests who are not attending. A party date changes the flow of the park as ticketed guests begin arriving in the afternoon. Day guests should check the official calendar before traveling and avoid building an evening plan around remaining inside Magic Kingdom once the event transition begins. The next party dates after Sunday are Sept. 15 and 18.

## The four-park ticket window is closing

Disney’s [4-Day, 4-Park Magic Ticket](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/2026-summer-ticket-offer/?ref=theamericanquorum.com) remains available with select start dates through Sept. 26\. The offer starts at $109 per day, or $436 plus tax, and includes one admission to each of Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom on four separate days. It does not allow a repeat visit to the same park, and each ticket must be used within seven days of its selected start date.

The ticket does not currently require theme-park reservations, but it is less flexible than a standard multi-day ticket because each park can be visited only once. Before purchasing, compare the full price and restrictions against the actual parks in your itinerary—especially if you intend to repeat Magic Kingdom or EPCOT, skip a park, or add a separately priced event.

## What to know before you go
